Account Manager - NATO

 

Location: UK (Remote) Travel to NATO sites in Europe and the USA is required. 

 

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add an experienced technical NATO Account Manager with proven Defence sector experience to their team. Working alongside other Account Managers, in this role you will lead the growth and development of the NATO account including NATO HQ, Allied Command Transformation (ACT), Allied Command Operations (ACO), the NATO Communications Information Agency (NCIA) and other NATO entities. You will be expected to identify and help win new business within NATO directly, via frameworks and through collaborations with other businesses. You will oversee and work with existing NATO framework managers and project teams providing advice and oversight, whilst ensuring their outputs are exploited within NATO.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing the NATO account, managing own lead generation.
  • Managing business performance for the NATO account, meeting business growth expectations.
  • Designing and executing a NATO focused account strategy aligned to business goals.
  • Strategically engaging NATO customers, competitors and partners, providing effective solutions.
  • Attending NATO customer meetings, events and exhibitions as required, providing a report afterwards to Directors and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Exploiting existing networks and developing new networks within the NATO ecosystem.
  • Travelling to NATO Command Structure (NCS) or other NATO entity sites within Europe and the USA to support the above activities.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven account management and business development experience within Defence, particularly NATO.
  • Experience working within international defence environment e.g. NCS.
  • Knowledge and or experience of NCS and key NATO processes e.g. Common Funded Capability Delivery & Governance Model (CFCDGM), NATO Defence Planning Process (NDPP)
  • Technical knowledge, experience and business networks within the Defence sector, particularly NATO.
  • Proven success in developing, managing and winning bids within a Defence Consultancy environment.
  • Outstanding consulting skills, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven relationship building and influencing skills.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
  • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo SC level clearance.
  • Candidates will need to hold or be eligible to hold NATO Secret (NS) clearance.
  • Candidates will need to have a passport and be eligible to travel to the USA and Europe.

To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
