Senior Category Manager

Location: Bristol (Hybrid - Office 2 days per week)

 

Our client is hiring a Senior Category Manager to work on a large Defence logistics programme. This role also involves managing a team of Category Manager’s, acting as Deputy for Head of Category Management, so would suit someone with previous leadership experience. 2 days per week in the Bristol office with early finish on Fridays.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Provide leadership, management, and development direction for the Strategic Category Team.
  • Ability to operate and provide leadership across all aspects of the category management.
  • Deputise for Head of Category as required
  • 5 years’ experience in a relevant Buyer / Procurement / Purchasing / Supply Chain environment.
  • Professional and Ethical in Approach.
  • Proven ability to persuade, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good Understanding of Supply Chain Management and Procurement, including Best Practise Purchasing and Sourcing Tools and Techniques.
  •  Any previous Buyer or Category Manager experience.
  • Support development of Category Strategy and executing the plans to meet the Business Objectives.
  •  Manage Cost Reduction Strategies through to completion.
  • Support Strategic Supplier Negotiations.
  • Ideally educated to HND / Degree Level Qualification in relevant subject, MCIPS qualified or working towards, or equivalent qualification.
