Senior Verification & Validation Engineer
Location: Bath, (Hybrid)
Salary £60k+
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Verification and Validation Engineer to join their team of experienced engineers who develop high-integrity software for safety-related and critical applications across various industries including Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Automotive, and Energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the verification and validation of safety-critical software, providing expert verification knowledge to project teams.
- Provide expert V&V guidance and oversight to project teams and develop effective and appropriate verification strategies for safety critical software.
- Work with the safety and quality assurance teams to ensure V&V strategies and evidence satisfy safety and quality requirements develop robust verification strategies.
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System V&V processes, standards, and procedures.
- Shape technical V&V strategy on bids and projects, basing approaches on standard applicable life-cycle models, quality management systems, and verification and validation toolsets and techniques.
- Provide V&V technical leadership in consultancy roles, shaping customers' approaches to software challenges.
- Lead the development of software requirements, architecture, and design.
- Collaborate with the safety team to provide verification evidence against relevant standards.
- Mentor and support the growth of junior staff, including leading a Verification and Validation Special Interest Group.
- Be an Advocate for our correctness-by-construction approach both internally and with clients.
- Work with Sales teams to support bidding for new projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of the whole safety-critical software and systems lifecycle.
- Extensive experience in software and systems testing at all levels of integration.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of test specification techniques.
- Experience in developing verification strategies and plans.
- Understanding of testing infrastructures and tooling.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership experience in high-value software development projects.
- Experience in leading people and building careers and capability.
